The CDA has updated the Runway Rotation Test schedule for the Week of September 11th. When the CDA submitted the rotation schedule the FAA, we had anticipated construction on Runway 10L-28R for pavement rehabilitation during the week of September 11th, and had therefore identified a construction alternative of Runway 10C-28C as the rotation runway. The CDA has confirmed that Runway 10L-28R will be in construction for nighttime hours during the week of September 11th, and that the construction alternative is needed.

Therefore we modified the schedule to remove the arrival arrow on 10L in the primary configuration; the secondary configuration remains unchanged. We have also changed the black flag “Construction Status Pending” to a yellow flag “Updated 9/2/2016”.

All versions of the Fly Quiet rotation schedule are updated and posted to the project website at www.flychicago.com/flyquiettest.

Updated Fly Quiet Test Rotation Schedule (9/2/16)

The Chicago Department of Aviation presented information on Nighttime Construction at O'Hare to the Technical Committee at the meeting on October 16.

The following construction work to runways and adjacent areas of the airfield may temporarily affect the designated preferential runways as identified in the voluntary Fly Quiet Program. The flyer describes which construction projects may impact nighttime aircraft operations and potential aircraft noise impacts to the surrounding communities near the airport.

When the CDA submitted the rotation schedule to the FAA, they anticipated construction on Runway 10L-28R for pavement rehabilitation during the week of August 14 and subsequently identified a construction alternative of Runway 10C-28C as the rotation runway.  Runway 10L-28R will not be in construction during the week of August 14 as planned and the construction alternative of Runway 10C-28C will no longer needed. CDA reverted back to the original plan of utilizing Runway 10L-28R as the single rotation runway for the week of August 14 .
