The O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission Executive Committee recently announced that it would form an Ad Hoc Fly Quiet Committee to review, modify and make recommendations regarding nighttime noise abatement procedures at O’Hare International Airport.

The O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission sent the Federal Aviation Administration its comments on August 25, 2015 regarding the FAA’s O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Re-evaluation.

“While maintaining a neutral position regarding O’Hare’s modernization efforts, ONCC steadfastly remains engaged in the process of defining, addressing and seeking solutions for noise issues during the modernization timeframe,” wrote ONCC Chair and Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene A. Juracek.

On August 18, an FAA spokesperson briefed Technical Committee on the FAA’s O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Re-evaluation of Interim Conditions. Members also learned that 2,230 citizens attended the four FAA public workshops which were held in Niles, Chicago, Bensenville and Elk Grove Village from August 10 to August 13.

The CDA posted white papers on their website Friday in direct response to noise-weary citizens’ questions and demands expressed at the first two Memorandum of Understanding meetings. Documents can be found at: (http://goo.gl/rtwgKg).
