The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released its draft documents re-evaluating the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Chicago O’Hare Modernization Program and is seeking comments from the public.

The FAA is conducting a written Re-Evaluation (Re-Eval) of the EIS to evaluate changes associated with the new timing for commissioning new Runway 10R/28L, new Runway 9C/27C, and the extension of Runway 9R/27L. The runways and extension were included in the original EIS, but are now scheduled for different completion dates.

The draft Re-Eval documents are available for review on the FAA web site at (https://www.faa.gov/airports/airport_development/omp/eis_re_eval/) and in 73 community libraries near O’Hare Airport. (See link for library locations.)
