42 communities and 19 school districts dedicated to reducing aircraft noise in the communities around O’Hare International Airport since 1996.

Two O'Hare community noise groups, the Suburban O'Hare Commission and the Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition, have endorsed the Chicago Department of Aviation's proposed Fly Quiet Runway Rotation Plan.  The plan calls for 12 weekly rotation periods of one arrival and one departure runway during the Fly Quiet II nighttime hours.  The ONCC will vote on the runway rotation plan on May 6. If approved, it will be submitted to the FAA and the plan will be tested for a six-month period.
