At the December 12, 2017 meeting of the ONCC Technical Committee the following items were discussed:

Noise Monitors

CDA Staff reported on the three permanent monitors that are currently in the process of being installed - Norridge, Bensenville and Itasca. Installation on all three monitors is nearly complete with the base and mast installed on each and the electrical having been approved by the municipalities. They are waiting for ComEd to energize the poles in order to proceed with the installation of the monitors. The remaining site in the City of Chicago will be the priority for 2018 and are expected to be installed in Spring/Summer 2018. Elmhurst is next on the list to receive a portable noise monitor, and the CDA is finalizing the details for the installation.

Complaint System

CDA staff reported that the CDA will be implementing the CAPTCHA  system on the City's complaint web site. Staff reported that a newer or enhanced complaint system would be in place later in 2018.

 Fly Quiet Quarterly Report

CDA consultants presented the 2017 3rd Quarter Fly Quiet Report, highlighting several recent changes and enhancements to the report. One chart in particular that the committee discussed at length was the Nighttime Departure Track Report, showing runway departures, how they lined up with the preferential flight tracks, and what the deviation rate was.

2018 Work Plan and Meeting Schedule

Finally, the committee reviewed the 2018 work plan and meeting schedule. Possible discussion items include RNAV procedures, Stage 5 Airplane Fleet and Legislation/Regulations.

The next meeting of the Technical Committee is scheduled for February 20, 2018 at the Mount Prospect Village Hall.
