ONCC General Meeting Recap - September 5, 2025
Thanks to all who attended the next ONCC General Meeting on September 5.
Recap:
- The Village of Wilmette was approved as a new member of the Commission
- CDA Consultants Landrum & Brown gave a presentation on Sound Insulation and Noise Contours, comparing Pre-OMP, OMP (O'Hare Modernization Program), and Post-OMP programs.
- Members were updated on the process for renewing the Intergovernmental Agreement. The agreement is expected to be approved by the Chicago City Council in early October. Once that occurs, the agreement will be sent to members for signature and must be returned to the ONCC by the end of December.
- CDA gave a report on the results of School Sound Insulation Program testing that occurred at potentially eligible schools this past spring and summer. Unfortunately, none of the schools were determined to be eligible for the program. A meeting of the School Sound Insulation Committee will be scheduled to review the testing process and the results.
- CDA Consultants Landrum & Brown presented the May, June, and July Airport Noise Management System (ANMS) Reports.
- Chair Annunzio reported that a presentation is expected at the October General meeting of the environmental modeling conducted by Landrum & Brown to assess changes in aircraft noise resulting from the Fly Quiet proposal. This work is intended to inform the FAA's determination on the level of environmental review required for the program.
- The 2026 Budget and updated Bylaws were approved.(see link below for links to documents)
