The O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission sent the Federal Aviation Administration its comments on August 25, 2015 regarding the FAA’s O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Re-evaluation.
“While maintaining a neutral position regarding O’Hare’s modernization efforts, ONCC steadfastly remains engaged in the process of defining, addressing and seeking solutions for noise issues during the modernization timeframe,” wrote ONCC Chair and Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene A. Juracek.

On August 18, an FAA spokesperson briefed Technical Committee on the FAA’s O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Re-evaluation of Interim Conditions. Members also learned that 2,230 citizens attended the four FAA public workshops which were held in Niles, Chicago, Bensenville and Elk Grove Village from August 10 to August 13.

ONCC prepared ‘to build on past work and move forward’ In a letter to Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Ginger S. Evans, ONCC Chair, Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, commended the aviation leader and the CDA for their constructive and innovative approach to the analysis of O’Hare noise mitigation and abatement options conveyed on July 31, 2015. Juracek wrote that ONCC endorses several CDA recommendations and urged the commissioner to dedicate the resources necessary to achieve them. more
